Northern Star Mortuary, Inc. opened its doors on June 21st, 2007 in Kansas City, Kansas.  We are a full service funeral establishment, independently family owned and operated, serving all faiths and customs.  Dedicated to the families we serve.

The name Northern Star was inspired reading about Harriet Tubman and how she was guided by her determination to right a wrong, her visions, faith and strong will to lead our ancestors through the Underground Railroad.  This was accomplished by using many different tools to communicate and navigate our people to freedom.  When we were traveling between one safe haven to the next, the North Star was used as a guide to motivate the weary, for hope, courage and as a light to shine their way.  Northern Star Mortuary is a guiding light for the families who are grieving and looking for passion, compassion, and professionalism.

The Staff of Northern Star is committed to increasing community relations by creating an environment where our families can be at peace to grieve. When our families walk through our doors they will feel the warmth, comfort and brightness of the atmosphere and be able to exhale, knowing that they and their love ones will be well taken care of.  We strive to adapt to the needs and wants of our families.  Our licensed staff will provide a clear holistic approach to the funeral process, understanding that with death comes the natural process of grieving, mourning and in some cases a state of confusion.  At this sensitive time we recognize that a meaningful ceremony with a personal touch is what our families are searching for.
