NSM has developed the Northern Star Funeral Expense Plan, or N.S.F.E.P., which will allow each member to reduce the cost of funeral service, burial and other related expenses. There is no medical examination and no age limit. The pre-arrangement contract will specify the required low monthly payment.
The Northern Star Funeral Expense Plan will offer a $150.00 dollar donation towards the cost of the repast (dinner). A check will be issued to the location of choice, if the repast is held at the family home then the donation will be made out to the legal next of kin. If the family decides not to have a repast no donation will be given.
Each contract will come with 500 credits that will only be donated at the time services are rendered. These credits can only be used for funeral services at NSM. All credits will have a dollar value of one dollar each when donated to a funeral service. Any amount of credits can be used at one time without going over credit limit. Credits will be held under the family's name.
Member's monthly payments can range from $24.00 dollars to $225.00 dollars; based on the package they select and the number of years (3,5,7,10,12,15 and 20 yrs) they choose to pay. If the full funeral cost is not paid at the time of death, the family will be responsible for the remaining balance in order to receive Plan benefits. This is for the use of funeral service expenses only.
In order to become a member of the Northern Star Funeral Expense Plan, arrangements must be made and the program guide lines agreed to and signed. All pre-arranged funeral information will be kept as part of your permanent record and filed at Northern Star Mortuary. This ensures that the products and services you have selected will be provided.
