Beulah Jackson Obituary

The Father called, and His Child answered John 10:27-29. The sun set for the final time in the life of our beautiful Matriarch, Beulah Helaire Jackson, on February 15th, 2019. She was born on Oakland Plantation on October 7th, 1919 to the union of Martha Hamilton and Felix Helaire. She accepted Christ at the age of 10, was baptized and became a life-long faithful member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church.

She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Reverend Fluney Jackson. To this union, two children were born.

Her ministry spanned 89 years and culminated with acquired her bachelor’s agree in theology from Monroe Bible College at the age of 83. Singing in the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church choir gave her pure joy. She also visited the sick and shut-in and helped her fellow man whenever she could. While serving as First Lady of St. Matthew Baptist Church, where her husband was pastor, she never faltered in her service to her home church or her family. She took great pride in being a faithful tither.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Fluney Jackson; four brothers, Leroy, Lawrence, Emage, and Eldorsey Helaire; and one sister, Alberta Beard.

She leaves to cherish her memory: one sister Elvira Helaire Davis of Shreveport, LA; two daughters; Lillie Mae Jackson of Kansas City, KS and Betty Williams (Walter) of Winnfield, LA; six grandchildren Pricilla Willams of Alexandria, LA, Gilda Daniels (Lawrence) of Mitchellville, MD, Walter Williams Jr. (Sheba) of Shreveport, LA, Deidre Poland of Garland, TX, Elaine Jackson of Kansas City, KS, and Karien Jackson-Demery (Hondo) of Kansas City, KS; several great grandchildren: including, Myron Jackson (Shrelle) of Kansas City, MO, Saquisha E.A.
