Summer Jackson Obituary

Summer Nicole Jackson was born May 3rd, 1979 in Wichita, Kansas.  Raised in Wichita, she attended Rounds Montessori and Independent School for her Primer Schools and graduated from High School at Fort Riley's Job Corps 2001.  She finished Vocational Technical training for Certified Nurse Aide and Medication Aide.  Summer's greatest joy was giving birth to her only son Damien November 1st, 1995.  Summer was THE basketball mom for Biddy Basketball through Damien's High School years of basketball, even being escorted out of some of the games!  If it was not AAU/MAYB Tournaments on the weekends, then she still had a  house full of basketball youngsters who loved her dearly.  She loved and helped raise each child as her own.  She would cook, sit, talk and laugh with her boys for hour about life.  Summer had the biggest heart for others, and she had a ton of friends with plenty of love to go around.  Most of all she loved children. 

Summer preceded in her death by her Paternal Grandparents Henry Jackson and Remitta Mahoney Jackson both of Little Rock, Arkansas; Maternal Grandparents Roy G. Crawford, Sr. of Kalamazoo, Michigan and Geraldine Pittman Crawford of Wichita, Kansas; daughter Andrea Reed who was born and died February 27th, 2001 in Wichita, Kansas.

Summer is survived by her son Damien Jones Jr. (Alanee Harlan) and sons Gibran Rounds and Damien Jones, III all of Wichita; her father John Henry Jackson (Sheila) of Wichita, mother Vaniece Crawford of Wichita, one brother Lavell Jackson of Wichita; sisters Cecelia Buckner and Bernay (Ralph) Holly both of Arlington, Texas; Crystal Jackson, Christina Dickens and Lily Jackson all of Wichita; Melissa Jackson of Springfield, Mo.; nephews; Johnathan Womack, Joshua Womack, Jonah Womack all of Springfield, Mo., cousins America Nelson, MD of Kalamazoo, MI; Eboney Crawford Jackson, PhD and Taleeda Crawford Johnson, RN both of San Antonio, TX; and host of additional family and friends that will miss her dearly.
