Annie Ridgell Obituary

Annie Mae Ridgell was born December 6th, 1924 in Monticello, Arkansas to Hattie and Joe Bob Harrell.  Her parents preceded her in death.  She departed this life January 29th, 2021.

Annie Mae accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Dotcy Isom C.M.E. Temple under Pastor Luther Eatman.  She had strong Christian beliefs and an unwavering faith in God, raising her children and grandchildren in that same Christian faith.  Prior to falling ill, she regularly attended Sunday worship service, expecting that of others also!  Along with her sweet kindness, she could draw her fist back if you really made her mad!

Annie Mae united in holy matrimony July 31st, 1943 to Theophalus Ridgell, and tho this union (3) children were born.  Annie Mae was a homemaker and for many years babysat children to help working family and friends.

Some lovely Christian qualities she had - being feisty, outspoken, strong independent Christian, loving her family deeply.  Being of our family, caring more about her family than herself, she also always helped others, opening her door to anyone in need.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Theophalus Ridgell: two brothers LV Harrell and Jimmy Harrell; one sister; Alice Williams; three stepbrothers; Joe Bob Harrell, Edward Harrell, and Kenny Harrell; one stepsister: Sherry Harrell; one grandson Larry Ridgell and others.

Annie leaves to mourn: one son Eugene Ridgell; two daughters; JoeAnne Peterson and Bobbie Ridgell; one son-in-law Jerome Peterson all of Kansas City, Kansas/Missouri; two granddaughters, Nina Ridgell and Cattina Ridgell; six grandsons, Samuel Ridgell, Calvin Ridgell, Sinclair Ridgell, Walter Ridgell, Booker T. Ridgell and Dajuan Minor all of Kansas City, Kansas; 57 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Beauty was her name....to know her was to love her and she will be truly, truly missed!
