Obituary

Barbara K. Henderson, 69 was born in Russellville, Arkansas to her parents Berlin and Clear Hillis, on January 14th, 1951.  Barbara came to Wichita at a young age where she attended USD 259 schools, graduating from Wichita West High School.  Barbara met her true love Larry Henderson working at Beech aircraft in 1977.  They married April 2nd, 1979.  Barbara went on to join the United States Army in 1984, where she was stationed at multiple destinations in the US and abroad.  She later joined the US Air Force reserves then US Air National Guard.  She returned with many medals, ribbons honors and including a sharp shooting badge.  Barbara was truly something special.  She will be remembered by her outgoing personality, her kind heart and her gift of gab.  Everyone who met Barbara, met a friend.  She loved people and loved to talk, even more when something was funny, her laugh would be contagious.  Barbara enjoyed traveling the outdoors, music and being surrounded with loved one and friends.  Last but not least her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her husband Larry were the true loves of her life.

Barbara departed this life on January 19th, 2020, her parents and brother Wayne Hillis preceded her in death.  She leaves to cherish her memory her husband Larry Henderson, children Lenora Rowell, Sandra Aviles, Kolleen Walker, Summer Kombe, Larry Henderson Jr. and Denisha Mitchell; brother Larry Hillis; 16 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.  There is no doubt that Barbara will be missed dearly.
