Emelda Elizabeth "Liz" Lawson (Mills) was born on November 2nd, 1944 in Los Angeles, California to J. Williams and Althea Mills. Liz, as she liked to be called, was also raised by bonus parents Etta Mills and Samuel DeBose, all who preceded her in death.
She married George Elliot Lawson in April 1966. To this union were born two sons. Although this union dissolved, this was the love of her life and she remained unmarried. She often said that his spirit was always with her and that she was not afraid to be by herself because he was there.
Lix worked as a secretary at Trade Tech in L.A. before she became unable to work. She was a very giving and caring person. She would give even if it meant that she would do without. If you needed something and she didn't have it, she would try her best to call around and try to get it for you. Liz was a family oriented person and made sure you knew who your family was and the history. Some often called her the family historian. She was also very wise, opinionated and spoke her mind.
