Georgia Mae (Drew) Clardy

Georgia Mae Drew transitioned this earthly life on the morning of April 15, 2020 while in Providence Medical Center.  At the time of her departure, she resided at Riverbend Post-acute Care in Kansas City, KS.  She was preceded in death by her mother and father Issac and Mable Drew and legal guardians William and Sadie Curry Johnson, children Theodore and Shierley Boyd and siblings:  Eugetta Williams, Isaac Drew, Florestine Freelon, and twins Edward and Edmond Johnson.

Georgia Mae Clardy was born October 28, 1930 in Kansas City, Kansas  to Isaac Drew and Mable Williams.  She was the youngest of the three siblings: Eugetta, Isaac, and Georgia Mae.  Her family ties remained after the death of her parents when Cousin Sadie Curry Johnson and William Johnson became legal guardians.

Georgia Mae attended Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools and graduated from Sumner High School Class of 1948.  After attending the University of Kansas School of Nursing, she was employed by KU Hospital as a Licensed Practical Nurse.  

She was baptized and an active youth at the Eight Street Baptist Church in Kansas City, KS.  She was involved in all church ministries from the Red Circle Girls to Baptist Training Union to 

singing in the teenager and later Young Adult Choir.  She has remained a member until her departure.

Georgia Mae leaves her legacy to seven children:  four daughters -Valcinia Lester (Larry), Pamela Boyd, Sabrina Boyd and Garnice Robertson; three sons- Reginald Boyd, Sandford Clardy, NormanClardy; 16 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 1 great, great grandchild.
