Jahbreel Kweli Rounds was born December 27th, 2000 in Wichita, Kansas to Kubwa and Tonisha Rounds. He graduated from Northwest High School in 2019 and went on to attend Northwestern College in Iowa. Jahbreel was an honor student all four years of high school and a member of the National Honor Society. In 2016 he received Student of the Month from Northwest High School and in 2019 he was the recipient of the "Unsung Hero" award from the Wichita North Optimist Club. He also was a member of the Kappa League.
Jahbreel had a love for football and track, he ran track three years as well as four years of football in high school, where he ultimately received scholarships in both. In high school Jahbreel flourished in his junior year- Honorable mention All City average six and a half tackles and finished the year with a sack. His senior he made 2nd team All City, where sub-state Champions, KSHSAA State Champions won State Championship (one of the best teams in Northwest history) and average four and a half tackles and one and one half sacks per game.
Jahbreel grew up in New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church where he was a lifelong member. He was baptized at a young age by his grandfather and Pastor T.L. Wade. He served faithfully on the dance, youth choir and Step Team ministries.
Jahbreel was a talented young man with a golden smile, who believed in helping everyone he meet. He had a thirst to succeed in all things he strived to do.
Jabreel leaves to cherish his loving memory, his parents Kubwa and Tonisha Rounds, sisters: Jahmee Matthews of Pa. Eymoni Friday of Oklahoma, Jahlyl Rounds and Jahmeelah Rounds of Wichita. Paternal great grandmother Tasleem Muqtasid; Maternal grandparents Tommy L. and Annie K. Wade of Wichita. God parents Deacon Robert and Sister Jayne Burton of Wichita, God mother Sidney Johnson and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, classmates and teammates.
