Jerel Damiand McGeachy, Jr.

Jerel McGeachy Jr. was born August 20, 2011, to Domonique Brown and Jerel McGeachy Sr. in Fort Bragg Fayetteville North Carolina.

Jerel Jr. was mostly educated at Village Christian Fayetteville North Carolina until moving to Topeka Kansas where he attended Whitson Elementary and Wanamaker Elementary.

Jerel Jr. then moved to Kansas City, Missouri with his parents and attended Congress Middle School. Upon moving to Kansas City Missouri Jerel Jr. was offered the opportunity to test out of the 7th grade by Congress Middle School and was promoted to the 8th grade.

Jerel Jr. accepted the Lord at Simon Temple AME Zion Fayetteville North Carolina and at the time of his passing he was under pastoral care at Asbury Mount Olive United Methodist church in Topeka Kansas.

Jerel Jr. started reciting Dr. Martin Luther King speeches around the age of 7 years old, he was well known in North Carolina and Kansas for the recitation of thee speeches and his strong confident oratory skills. Jerel Jr. even has his own Facebook page and business card on which he expresses his desire to be a future United States Attorney General.

Jerel Jr. was requested and spoke in Raleigh N.C. for the 1st year anniversary of the Insurrection at the Capital Building Washington D.C. 

Jerel Jr. spoke at many black History venues in Kansas and Missouri and his last speech was at the Brown vs Board in February 2024. 

Jerel Jr. was preceded in death by his mother and paternal grandmother Annie McGeachy. Jerel Jr. is survived by his maternal grandparents Michelle and Billy Smith paternal grandfather Joel McGeachy along with his aunts Zariah Myles, Tania Kilkenny, Tonika Dunbar and Ronyea Graves, numerous great aunts, cousins and friends.
