Jessie Carruthers Obituary

Jessie Mae Jones Carruthers "Mama Dee" was born to the late Alberta and George Jones on March 13, 1933 in Parkin, Arkansas.

"Mama Dee" accepted Christ at an early age, and she received her education in the public schools of Parkin, Arkansas.

Jessie Mae married Booker T. Carruthers on July 2, 1949. To this holy union, seven children were born. The Carruthers family later moved to Kansas City in 1962.

Although she held several positions outside of the home, her greatest position held was being an outstanding mother, awesome grandmother, great grandmother, immeasurable friend and family member.

"Mama Dee" loved being around her family and friends.

She was kind, loving and cared for every person she encountered. She loved cooking for her family, taking and collecting family photos. She will be sadly missed.

Jessie departed this life on July 28, 2020. She was preceded in death by both parents; husband, Booker T. Carruthers; three brothers, George Jones, Raymond Jones, A.J Jones and one grandson, Kenneth E. Hopkins IV.

Jessie M. Carruthers leaves to cherish her memories, her loving sons; Ronald Carruthers (Wanda) of Houston Texas, Shaunta Bonwell, Ronald Carruthers Jr., Adrian Carruthers, Karla Carruthers, Aliesha Carruthers, Brian Carruthers, Erica Carruthers (Jessie Walker II), Jessika Carruthers, Akisha Carruthers, (Keith Townsend Jr.), Corey Green (Marlon Kelsey), Amber Golden, Jillian Golden, Kenneth Carruthers, Tanika Coleman, Kenneth Carruthers Jr., Shalise Carruthers, Carl Carruthers and Steve Carruthers. Her loving daughters Sharon Gilliam, Kenneth Hopkins IV, Mark Gilliam Jr., Dominika Gilliam. Karita Carruthers Domynique Milliken all from Kansas City, KS.
