In loving memory of John L Hill Sr., 77 years old of Kansas City, KS, a loving father, cherished friend and devoted family man. Born to Charles Hill and Margaret Melton on November 3rd, 1946 in which both parents preceded him in death.
At a young age John went on to live with his Aunt and Uncle Odessa and Robert Brown who later adopted and raised him as their own. They preceded him in death and he is now reunited with both sets of parents.
John was a member of Mount Olive Baptist church. He attended Lincoln High school in Nowata, Oklahoma and received his diploma. He went on to attend Trade school where he graduated and received a certificate to be a Butcher. Throughout his life John perfected his craft with dedication and precision. He worked at Bichelmeyer Meats for 15+ years along with Leon's Thrift Way.
Beyond the butcher's block, John had a creative soul. He found inspiration in music. He played the guitar and did so very well, losing himself in melodies that touched his heart and others. He also loved fishing and hunting. He had a smile that lit up the room along with a voice that carried throughout the room. He was a people person; no one was a stranger to him.
But above all, John treasured his time with family and friends. Whether it was sharing a meal, laughing together, or simply being there for one another, he understood the importance of connection and love.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Joy Powell.
He leaves to cherish his memories: five siblings: Nina McGee Moore(Alonzo); Dorris Powell(Herbert); Wilson Brown(Judy); Denessa Eaton(Richard); Patricia Brown Wallace(James). Eight children: Johnnie Hill Jr(Tiffany); Leandra Hill; Ashley Hill; Camille Estes; Misha Hill; Ramon Broadwell; Prentis Hill; and a host of grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
