LeRoy Thompson Obituary

Mr. LeRoy "Tony" Thompson was born on April 10th, 1941, in Buffalo, New York.  Mr. Thompson was an only child born to his mother Alqueena "Queenie" Houston.  Mr. Thompson wed Mrs. Patricia Thompson with whom he had two children, Eric Thompson and Mary "Toni" Thompson and grandson Dakota Rodgers who all preceded him in death.  Mr. Thompson later wed the late Mrs. Stella Thompson.

Mr. Thompson was a Military Veteran of the United States Air Force where he was highly active with Vietnam.  He later received a 100 Honorable Discharge.  After the Air Force he went on to work at Raytheon Aircraft where he later retired.  Mr. Thompson was a community business entrepreneur and activist involved with the Peerless Princess Elk Lodge #243 (Former Exalted Ruler), IBOPE of W Grand Lodge of Elks, Grand Veteran Affairs Commissioner (Emeritus), Prince Hall Affiliate of Mason, Shriners and York Right non-profit organizations.  Mr. Thompson gave charitably to support the mobilization of these world-wide organizations.  Mr. Thompson also served many years with the Wichita Social Club, The 12 Horsemen, who provided year-round support for the community activities and fundraising efforts to support worthy causes.  Mr. Thompson was the owner of Roy's Place and Thompson Rental Properties in Wichita, Kansas and Buffalo, New York.

As Mr. Thompson travels homeward, leaving behind his daughters Ouivette Spann-White (Nicholas White) and Yvette "Terria" Sapnn.  He leaves his son Terrance Spann.  He leaves his grandchildren; Erica Yarborough, Toni Rodgers, Sheyanne White, Montana Thompson, Taylor White, Torrence, Terrance Jr. Tamara Spann, Iverson and Stella Alaniz.  Mr. Thompson had one great grandson London Cobb and God Daughter Kimberly Wilkins.  He leaves behind his best friends and Elk Brothers Willard Lee Jr and Dennis Williams.  Mr. Thompson also leaves behind a very special friend and caregiver Beverly Thompson.
