Otis Horner Obituary

Otis Dewitt Horner Sr. was born on April 25, 1982 to Lula Horner (Henson) and Jerry Johnson in Wichita, Kansas. Otis attended Wichita Public Schools during his elementary years and Coffeyville Public School during his high school years.

Otis accepted Christ into his life at a young age and was baptized at New Testament Baptist Church in Wichita Kansas. He later became a member of New Christian Fellowship Church in Forth Worth, Texas.

In 2001, Otis was united in marriage to Rhonda Kay Marrow and to this union Otis Horner Jr. was born. He also had a stepson DeAnthony Booker. Otis and Rhonda gracefully parted ways in 2016. Otis was recently engaged to Chinique Brown.

Otis enjoyed fishing, camping, casinos, traveling, playing dominoes, listening to music and spending time with his family. He was a friend to all and never met a stranger. Otis was a talented and hard-working man. His skills and workmanship were impeccable. From remodeling houses to building decks, he did it all. He worked in construction until his untimely death.

"Red" as he was affectionally known, loved his family and was full of life! Whenever you would see Otis and ask him how he was doing he would always say "Trying to make sumthin happen!"

Otis was loyal to his family and loved them with everything he had. He was a protector, provider, and would help anyone. He had the gift of making people laugh and being around him always brought pure joy. Otis will be remembered for his beautiful smile, his loving nature and his giving spirit.

Otis leaves to cherish his memory: Mother, Lula Horner Henson and Father Jerry Johnson.

Sons, Otis Horner Jr, Kente Parker, and Stepson DeAnthony Booker. Daughters, Ke'Arrah Horner, Tyzonia Horner, Chiquisia Clemons, Aspen Horner and Debra Horner. Stepdaughters She'arrah Anderson and Debrae Stevenson. Sisters; Tenesha Horner Hassan (Mudassar), Sharonell Horner, Tyronda Horner (Timothy Allen), Lorene Henson-McCoy (Jessie) and Lafayette Johnson. Brothers; Billy Ray Melton Jr., Travis Horner, Carnelius Melton (Lisa Jones), Jerry Johnson Jr., Terrance Johnson and Travis Johnson. Special cousin Viola Horner. His forever brother in law Hubert Thompson and his niece Diamond. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, extended family and countless friends.

Otis was loved by his children, family and friends and words cannot express how much he will be missed. Even though we are sad we know that he gained his wings to fly to heaven to be with his loved ones and they are smiling down on us.
