Robert Eugene Johnson, 61, was born on July 5, 1962, to the union of Robert Lee Johnson and Ophelia (Reed) Johnson in Kansas City, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Johnson, mother, Ophelia Johnson, his paternal grandparents, Fred Johnson, Hattie Johnson, his maternal grandparents, Samuel Reed, Lucille Fritz-McKinzy, brother, Calvin Cubie, sister, Vera Johnson. Uncles, L.C. McKinzy Jr., Billy McKinzy, Willie McKinzy, Harold Richardson, KCMO. Fred (Ida Mae), Joe Louis, George. Aunts, Evelyn Roberts, Lucille Rowe, Lena Phillips, Amanda Johnson, Queen Ester Johnson.
Corporal Johnson was a lifelong resident of Atlanta where he worked as a deputy sheriff and retired. He attended the Kansas City Missouri public schools and was a graduate of Paseo High School class of 1980.
Robert received a bachelors degree at Mid America Nazarene College in Olathe, Kansas. He pursuited his education and became a police officer and deputy sheriff in Kansas, Missouri, and Atlanta.
Robert was known as Bob, Little Robert, Pops, Big Robert, Grandpa, Little Bob, Corporal J. Johnson, by his family and friends. He loved fishing, cooking, riding his motorcycle and going to Bike Week.
He departed this life on Thursday, September 12, 2023 at the Saint Luke’s Hospice House, KCMO.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his son, Robert Johnson, KCMO and daughter, Twyla Washington, KCK, aunt, Thelma Curry, KCMO, uncles, Melvin Jetton, Larry McKinzy Sr., KCMO, grandchildren, Robert, Sianey, Alexis, Justice, Tyray, Raylan, great grand son, Zyaire. Nephews, Rodney Johnson (Brianna), great nephew, RJ, William Carter (Stacy), KCMO, Larry McKinzy Jr., KCK, nieces, Shalise Cubie, Tasha Harvey, KCMO, Lee McKinzy (Tudi), KCK, special cousin, Bernadette, special friend Toni and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends that he cherished dearly.
The family would like to thank you with a special appreciation for your prayers, calls, cards, flowers, and dinner. Whatever you did to help ease the family’s pain during these days.
