Ruby Joyce King was born to Henry King and Lillie Mae Verge on July 16th, 1945, in Hope, Arkansas, but she was raised in Little Rock. Ruby is the third child of nine kids. She moved to Wichita, Kansas in 1965.
Ruby was the proud mother to seven children; Clifford Wayne, Robert Brown, Steven King, Danna King, Anginette King Norton. Two of her children, David King and Teresa Lynn King preceded her in death. She enjoyed being the proud grandmother of 13 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. Ruby was known to many as a selfless woman. She would give her last to anyone who needed it. Whenever someone asked her to help with a dinner, she was there.
She worked 20 years for the American Legion Post #273 and later became a member of the women auxiliary, where she served as Sergeant of Arms for 15 years. Ruby's passions was cooking, shopping and playing dominoes. Most of all, Ruby loved her kids and grandchildren. She was a firecracker to the very end. She will be missed by many family and friends.
