Timothy Bernard Riggans was born on February 4, 1963 in Kansas City, Kansas. He was the seventh child born to Alonzo and Ella Riggans. Timothy was preceded in death by his parents, and three older brothers, Alonzo, Wallace, and Kelvin. He joined the Walnut Boulevard Baptist Church at the age of seven where he attended regularly during his youth. As a teen, he was interested in playing drums and he began attending the Turner House Neighborhood Youth Program where he met Mr. Wendell Maddox who taught Timothy to play drums. He excelled very well in this craft and went on to play in various churches and in later years he played with jazz, rock, rhythm and blues bands and even accompanied the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kansas in recording a record. On occasions while traveling, he gave drum lessons to supplement his income. One of his proudest moments was when he fathered his one and only child, Timothy. Although his journey took him away from his son, family and friends he was always in our thoughts. He leaves to cherish his memory, one son Timothy Lamb, eleven grandchildren, one sister Lynette Lasley (Lee), two brothers Roger Riggans, Sr. (Shirley), and Steven Riggans (Pam) all of Kansas City, Kansas, a host of relatives and friends. He will be sorrowfully missed by those who knew him affectionately known as Cernard and Sticks. He passed away peacefully in Wichita, Kansas on January 10, 2022.
